Pet dental health

The reality is that about 95% of dogs and cats will need some sort of veterinary treatment or correction as result of dental disease. In other words, the odds are that more than 9 out of 10 dogs and cats will end up at a veterinarian if proper dental care measures are not enforced. However, it is estimated that fewer than 10% of owners brush their pet’s teeth.

As part of our services, the veterinarians and staff at Vet Hospital Port Shepstone are trained to help you with your pet’s mouth & teeth-related problems.

The large majority of cases we see at Vet Hospital Port Shepstone present with periodontal disease. Upon evaluation, a veterinarian can assist you with proper dental health measures such as tooth brushing, feeding supportive food and the correct treats, and in severe cases with dental scaling.
